

Kristin McFarlane
Glass Artist & Graphic Designer
Kristin McFarlane is an Australian artist who combines graphic design, glass, botanical specimens, photography, encaustic painting, print and typography to explore fragility, nature and beauty. Kristin holds a Bachelor of Arts in graphic design, a Graduate Diploma and Master of Fine Arts in glass at Monash University, Melbourne.
Her work has been exhibited widely at SOFA Chicago, Salone del Mobile, Milan and galleries in Venice and New York. She is a five time Ranamok Glass Prize finalist and her works are held in the Australian National Glass Collection, Bombay Sapphire Foundation, The Royal Court of Jordan, the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and private collections around the world. She has received grants from the Australia Council, Ian Potter Cultural Trust and Craft Victoria and has run glass workshops for the Warlayirti Artists of Balgo Hills, Western Australia. Kristin designed and created the trophies for the Australian of The Year Awards from 2005-2014. She works from her studio at the Burrinja Art Centre, Upwey, in the Dandenong Ranges.
