Saturday 31st October 1.30-4.30pm Teacher: Karen Bowen Beginners - Intermediate: a bit of painting experience is helpful. A long weekend creative activity. Drawing on design elements from the various modern art movements, Karen will lead you through the process of creating an abstract or stylised still life painting by depicting familiar objects with a twist. Take home an abstract/stylised masterpiece! All materials provided. Karen is an experienced oil painter, often painting familiar objects and landscapes in her compositions using intense, bright colours and bold lines to create works that celebrate the joy colour brings to her and the viewer. Karen spent 3 years working under Melbourne artist, Nell Frysteen who shared a love of colour with her and started her on a journey towards colour mastery. Influenced by Matisse, the Fauves and the Expressionists, Karen’s contemporary, domestic scale paintings, cards, and prints have found buyers through social media outlets and at Art & Alchemy Gallery & Studio, Kalorama.
