AI, Art & the A&A Gallery

I have a roll of stickers on my counter which say 'No AI Art, Art is for Admin' and this has prompted a few conversations with people about AI and art recently - not that they've thought we had any AI art, but more to discuss what AI means for art and artists. This has prompted me to publish our policy just to be clear about where we stand because it is something we do have to address these days.
Basically, as the sticker says, my position is that we are a no AI art/images gallery.
No products will be AI generated.
AI may be used in other capacities, such as on the business side. I do appreciate its ability to help automate things in particular. Anything that helps me have more time to do more of the aspects of this business I really enjoy (teaching, making art) and leave the others, I'm happy for the help. But I still recognise there are issues and limitations (including resources, which are significant and which we do need to deal with as a society).
We have wonderful artists here and I do not have any issues with trusting them in this.
I believe we all like to make art.
Need to make art.
The process of making is a big part of why we make and again, I am confident pretty much of our artists 100% would agree with me on this.
But from an industry standpoint, if artistic standards move towards expecting any sort of verification or statement of being handmade, then I'll address that then.
But for now, my policy is that our artists create beautiful, unique and original works using the materials and mediums they work in and we have no need for AI, we have no desire for AI art, and we are proud to produce original works of art.
The gallery has a range of artists with a variety of experiences, although many could be described as mid-career onwards experience wise, many who have been working as artists in some form for the majority of their career. I don't believe any of us are likely to change our perspective in the near future. I've put this to our artists prior to publishing this and had no disagreement.
