You are invited to the opening of Gathered

A gathering at
Gathered: A Collection of Scrolls
From Karly, Art & Alchemy Gallery Director:
You are very warmly invited to Mary McCowan’s exhibition Gathered: A Collection of Scrolls. This exhibition will be in the Art Salon Space from Thursday 15th Oct until Sunday 22nd November and we are having an opening event Sunday week on the 18th of October from 2.30 to 4.30pm. This will be a time to gather with others in our beautiful gallery spaces and hear from the artist about her work. This is a free event, and while RSVP isn’t necessary, any indication of attendance would be appreciated: RSVP here.
Mary is a very dedicated daily maker, her work is personal and varied in medium. She engages with repetitive mark making, and has a playful, intuitive, and slow making process. Her work is highly experimental and reflects a daily creative habit.
During the exhibition, Mary will be facilitating a workshop on Sunday 15th November. The workshop is inspired by the words “emancipated, unshackled, unfettered’ and will be an opportunity to walk through Mary’s process with her, experimenting and playing with various materials and textures. Mary is an experienced facilitator and has a gentle and encouraging approach that invites anyone, whether you think you are an artist or not, into the creative space. Find out more about her workshop and book in via our website. This will be a wonderful, unique and intuitive way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
As well as Mary’s workshop, we have a wonderful range of classes coming up in the very near future. If you are very quick, there may still be some spaces left for Rain’s acrylic painting class this coming Sunday. Otherwise explore the selected classes that are linked below - or check out our website for the full list of everything being offered this term.
