What are you putting off that you really love?

I'm not sure about you but even for me, working in a gallery, it is all too easy to let go of doing the things that I really want to spend more time doing.

But one of the main reasons I wanted to be here at the gallery and studio is because of how important I think creative engagement is and that I love inviting people into this process - whatever that looks like for you - because for me that often looks pretty varied!

I've been working on crafting a program that provides a great creative selection and this is slowly becoming a reality so there are just a few things I'm really excited about (all of the links and more are below):

new art classes for term 4- on weekends and weekdays
and I haven't even mentioned how good the gallery looks and how our range is expanding all the time! We have new pieces of art, more prints and a new range of art kits. If you are a collector (or would like to be) I encourage you to come out and have a look.

So, if doing hand-on, creative art making is what you'd like to be doing more of, then I encourage you to check out our Term 4 classes.

We already have way too many classes to include in one email so I'm just going to highlight a few that are coming up in October and encourage you to check out our website to see our full listing. (There are some really interesting sessions later in the term, so to avoid missing out, check them out earlier rather than later.)

In October, we have some Friday Evening Social sessions - think Paint n' Sip type sessions, that are fun, low-pressured ways to end the week. Also great end-of-year friends or work activities. We can also create a version of these sessions just for your business if you are interested in booking us to run a private event for you - we can even come to you!

We have a great range of weekend classes in October including a specialised Doll making workshop with Shervin Ranjbar who is an experienced textile artist. This is a great, family friendly activity and wonderful way to end the school holidays!

We have Rain White and Karen Bowen back with us in October, offering a range of painting and drawing classes for people looking to develop their painting skills even further. They each bring a great deal of experience and expertise in their areas, so their classes are going to be great!

Spotlight on Exhibition Gathered

I'm really looking forward to Mary McCowan's exhibition 'Gathered' in our Salon Space starting on 14th Oct with a free opening event on Sunday Oct 18th 2.30-4.30 (see below). Mary's work is a deeply personal collection, developed from her daily, creative and spiritual practice as she reflects on her experience of the world. She creates using everyday materials that reflect how she lives in the world and she builds up her work through repetition. She has a beautiful, reflective, intuitive style that she has developed over many years. During her opening event we will hear a little bit more about her process and creative engagement and in November she will be running a Sunday class about intuitive art making to invite others to find their own way into a daily practice.
